Jack J. Bensimon
Chief Compliance Officer
Bensimon is the Chief Compliance Officer of Blockvest & Board Advisor. He is a seasoned securities law / banking law professional in the securities industry and has advised banks, broker-dealers, fixed income dealers, MSBs, ATS, regulators, trust and insurance companies, asset manages, mutual fund dealers, energy companies, fintech companies, Robo advisers, software providers, blockchain companies and issuers.
He is dual registered with securities regulators in both US/Canada. He is the in-resident expert on banking law and securities law matters. Bensimon provides advisory on pre-sale, ICO, to post-ICO on regulatory compliance issues and submissions to various securities regulators. He has worked in the securities industry for over 20 years, mainly acting as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for banks, investment banking and counselling firms, trust companies, and broker-dealers. He has provided expert testimony in federal court and securities litigation cases. His sector coverage spans energy infrastructure, real-estate, financial services, software, consumer products, utilities, and manufacturing.
Recent clients include McKinsey & Company, Nagel & associates, Experis, Wellington West Capital Markets, Fidelity Equity Partners, Perry Capital LLC, and TransCanada Pipelines.
Bensimon chairs the Technion Canada Endowment Fund on behalf of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, a leading engineering university/medical school, with investment returns funding innovative lab projects. Bensimon leads panel discussions in corporate governance for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Jack teaches in the graduate program, MFacc (Masters in Financial Accountability) – Legal and Regulatory Compliance for Accountability and Good Governance, part-time at York University, School of Administrative Studies, to graduate students.
Bensimon is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, Master of Laws (LLM) in Business Law, and completed both his General LLM and Securities Law LLM at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. Jack is also a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School of Business, in a graduate program in investment management. He completed his B.A. (Hon), Economics/Math, University of Toronto.
